A 21-year-old Florida man is accused of brutally murdering his own mother in her home. The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Emmanuel Espinoza went to visit his mother and stabbed her over 70 times.

Officials shared a video from Elvia Espinoza's Ring doorbell camera that showed her son walking up to the front door armed with a knife. When she opened the door to greet him, he pushed her down and started stabbing her.

During a press conference on Monday, Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd shared audio from the 911 call Espinoza made in which he admitted to killing his mom.

"I killed someone," Emmanuel can be heard telling the dispatcher. "I stabbed my mom."

Judd said that Espinoza, who was studying pre-med, had no history of mental illness or violent crime.

"We asked, 'Do you love her?' And he said,' Oh ya, I love her.' We asked, 'Do you all get along?' And he said, 'Yea, an 8 out of 10, we get along, but I've wanted to kill her for years, and I made up my mind when I drove from Gainesville; today is the day,'" Judd explained.

"It is one of the most bizarre murders that we have dealt with in a very long time," Judd added. "And when you see that he left a family behind that loved him, a mom that just worshiped her children, and at this very moment, she should have been in Ben Hill Griffin Elementary creating a future and educating our second-graders, is incomprehensible of what happened that day."
